Medina County F1RST is proud to offer EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment funding for first responders who have experienced trauma from critical incidents. EMDR is a proven therapy for PTSD and trauma-related conditions, helping individuals process distressing memories and regain emotional balance.
Through a partnership with Alternative Paths, Inc., Medina County F1RST provides funding for up to 5 EMDR sessions (not to exceed $500) with specially trained clinicians.
Key Features:
No financial need required—this program is open to all eligible first responders.
Treatment is provided by licensed professionals experienced in trauma care.
Additional sessions beyond the initial 5 may be pursued at the responder’s own expense.
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be a firefighter, EMT, paramedic, law enforcement officer, corrections professional, or dispatch/communications professional.
Must be currently affiliated with a Medina County first responder agency.
Must not have received EMDR funding from Medina County F1RST in the past 12 months.
